Dear friends,
I have recently visited a small village in Zadar hinterland.
The village has been destroyed during the war and Croatian authorities
have invested some money to repair roofs and enable return of
refugees.

Part of the village
One of them is the very sympathetic old lady that we call "granny".
I don't know how old she is, I even don't know her
name, but I think about her a lot. Without electricity or water
she is still extremely happy to be back to her village. She will
not go back to Zadar to a small apartment of her daughter.

Our granny is very positive looking forward to the future. Her
family is supporting her as much as they can, and they have done
a lot. Yet, destroyed house needs a lot. Nanny's biggest
wish now is to make a new façade on the house.

I hope we might help her. I am starting the fund-raising for
her myself; nothing official, nothing big. I ask you as my friends
and colleagues to trust my good intentions and to help with some
small spare money that I will collect from you and give to nanny.
Neither granny nor her family know about it yet, because they
would most probably – proud as they are – declare
that they would survive without help and that there are more needed.
Which might be the truth, but we have a chance now to do something
special.
Please, react positively to this mail. I am planning to visit
the granny if I can then make a "surprise donation".
You will get a full report about the money collected, and new
pictures of the granny.
